Strong-arm robbery occurs at Caffe Strada in broad daylight Friday afternoon – Daily Californian

A male was robbed Friday afternoon while sitting at Caffe Strada, according to a Nixle alert issued Saturday.

The victim was using his laptop about 11:59 a.m. when one of the two suspects involved in the incident allegedly stole it off the table and ran down Bancroft Way, the alert said. Both suspects fled to a UC Berkeley parking garage while the victim chased after them.

The alert said one of the suspects stopped and allegedly knocked the victim to the ground, causing him to sustain minor injuries. A group of bystanders stopped one of the suspects, but the other was able to flee the area.

According to the alert, the first suspect was described as a Black 17-year-old male. The alert described the second suspect as a Black male in his 20s who was about 5 feet 8 inches in height, with a thin build and short hair.
