POLICE: Three masked individuals with guns rob internet cafe – WITN

GRIFTON, N.C. (WITN) – The Grifton Police Department is investigating an armed robbery after three masked individuals stole money from an internet cafe in Grifton Saturday night.

Police say three people wearing dark clothes and masks walked into Ricky’s Sweepstakes just before 10 p.m. and demanded money.

The 8 to 10 people inside the cafe on Queen Street immediately hit the ground when the three individuals came inside, Grifton Police Sergeant D. Dennis said.

The masked individuals then fired one shot, took an undisclosed amount of money and ran away, Dennis said.

No one was injured during the incident.

Grifton Police along with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office are currently reviewing camera footage and investigating the incident. Authorities attempted to track the individuals with a K-9 unit and have interviewed the people inside the business at the time of the robbery.
